As of 1 January 2012 we have 121 members

Welcome new members

Ray and Patricia (PJ) Missman are also members of Friendship Force of Greater Houston, where Ray is a Past President.  They split their time living in Houston and Fair Oaks, as Ray continues to work as an engineer in Houston.  PJ, a former teacher, is Houston’s ED for our Outbound Exchange to Dallas/Houston in April. She has been an ED many times, and served as Secretary in the past.  In 2010, they attended the FFI World Conference in Washington D.C., where they met some of our members.  Following the Conference, PJ and Lynn Meyer continued to keep in touch.  Prior to their move to Houston, they lived in Kern County, and were members of the FF club there.  After Ray retires, they plan to settle full-time in Fair Oaks to be near their children and grandchildren.

Warren Bonta retired two years ago from the State of California, managing health clinics for farm workers, immigrants and refugees.  His interests include history, culture, music, and book collecting.  He has three children and six grandchildren who live out of state.  Warren  has recently traveled to China and Panama, and looks forward to traveling with Friendship Force and hosting those from other places and cultures.

Karen Baumann rejoins us, after her first membership in 2005.  Karen is a high school teacher for independent students, an avid gardener, a singer, and a ukulele soloist.  She belongs to several travel groups, and does “house swaps” every summer.  Places she has traveled include Europe, Egypt, Cuba, and Costa Rica.
